WAYNE – Wayne Mock Trial was back in the spotlight Tuesday afternoon during regional competition.
From room 202 at the Wayne Jr/Sr High School competition was done through zoom.
The Mock Trial team of Easton Blecke, Maiah Davis, Mason Ley, Parker Kesting, Maddie Franta, Sophia Reeg, Brooklyn Bierbower and Alex Schaffer have advanced to the Nebraska Bar Association’s State competition.
This group went 4-0 during the regional round defeating Battle Creek, Lutheran High Northeast, Norfolk Public and then LHNE again in the final round.
Also, head mock trail coach Josh Johnson would like to congratulate the Wayne Mock Trail #2 Team for finishing sixth place out of 11 teams in the region competition on November 30. The team went 1-2 falling to LHNE and South Sioux City while defeating Norfolk Catholic in late November. Team members included Abi Hawthorne, Ruby Kinzie, Alondra Vega, Fatima Lucas Garcia, Ava Elliot, Raegan Maas, Kate Hill, Ethan Wibben and Nina Hammer.
The mock trial state competition will be held through zoom from Monday, December 13 – Wednesday, December 15 between 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. each day.
