Gov. Ricketts, Nebraska Coalition Applaud Attorney General, Say Fix Needed for Water Rule

LINCOLN, NEB. – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) final “Waters of the U.S.” Rule (the Rule) will be damaging to Nebraska’s agriculture and business sectors, while driving up costs for local governments. Those sentiments were shared by Gov. Pete Ricketts and members of the “Common Sense Nebraska Coalition” July 1, during a news conference in which they applauded Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson for including Nebraska in a multi-state lawsuit against the EPA and the Corps redefining “Waters of the United States” under the Clean Water Act (CWA).

Seat Belts & Teen Drivers Focus of NSP Educational Efforts

(Lincoln, Neb.)- Young drivers and seat belt usage will be the focus of a summer-long initiative by the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) as it continues its efforts to “Drive to Save Lives” through voluntary compliance with all traffic safety laws.

MIKE TRADERíS MID-AMERICA BASKETBALL CAMP

Mike Trader’s Annual Mid-America Basketball Camp will conduct its final three individual sessions for the summer. The overnight and commuter camps for boys and girls will be held on July 13-16 at Hastings College and July 19-22 at Doane College. Day Camps will be held for both boys and girls at Grand Island Central Catholic on July 26-29.

$12,000 donation to Rebuild Hank

The Endicott family presented a $12,000 check on behalf of Pac 'N Save to the Rebuild Hank project at Hank Overin Field on Friday night before the Wayne vs. Wakefield Juniors game. The Rebuild Hank Committee has raised over $65,000.

USA World National Soccer Team defeats Germany

In semi-final action of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Tuesday evening USA defeated Germany 2-0 to advance to the finals and will now await either Japan or England who play this evening at 5 p.m. C/T.
