WAYNE – From general athletics to general academics and in-between to support scholarships, the Wayne State College Giving Day will be on Friday.

The site, wsc.edu/giving day has been open for over a week as Wayne State College Foundation is looking to meet the goal of $115,000.

Amber Sperry is in her fourth year with the WSC Foundation and currently serves as the Director of Alumni Relations. Sperry said the Friday, April 26 WSC Giving Day will be the fourth annual event.

“This day is 24 hours where all of our Wildcat family comes together to really champion education and support the aspirations of our students,” said Sperry. “The day  filled with shared purpose where alumni, friends, supporters all come together to fuel scholarships, enhance programs, initiatives and really just the entire Wayne State College experience.”

Visit wsc.edu/givingday to give now with each and every dollar making a difference in raising scholarship funds.

“If you click into each of those team pages, you have the option to watch a video that each team kind of put together,” Sperry added. “Those turned out really neat. A lot of students expressed that they love Wayne State because it felt like home to them and also the community surrounding the college.”

The first 200 donors to give $100 or more will receive a free pair Wildcat socks. Another way to give is by texting WSCGivingDay to 71777.

Along with summer golf outings being scheduled, the Wayne State College Foundation will be turning their attention to the 100th Anniversary of Homecoming the first week of October.

The WSC Foundation continues to focus on fundraising for the Athletic Recreation Project which includes an air-supported structure, indoor track and turf field as well as renovations to Rice and the Rec Center.

“It’s been very apparent how important recreation, wellness and fitness is to our student population,” Sperry mentioned. “Our campus is just out of space and it didn’t adequality fit our needs for our students. So, this project will also serve and be open for the community and the region.”
