Thursday Storm Leaves 3,900 Without Power

WAYNE – As Thursday’s storms rolled through the area, Northeast Power was busy at work.

According to a post around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday from Northeast Power, several lines and poles were down across the entire district due to the afternoon storm.

All crews were out working to address the issues as quickly as possible. Multiple transmission lines were out and Northeast Power was aware of some broken transmission poles, in addition to many distribution poles and lines.

Crews worked diligently through the night to get the transmission system restored.

An updated post around 9:30 p.m. Thursday evening stated just over 3,920 were left without power and the number decreased to 900 as crews continued to work to restore as many as possible. A reminder was mentioned that, if you see a line down, assume it is energized.

Also, an overnight post around 1:15 a.m. on Friday, mentioned around 500 customers were without power scattered across the entire district. Northeast Power has engaged contractor crews to assist in the restoration efforts and appreciates your patience with several broken poles and downed wires.
