Late December Community Blood Drive Opportunities

WAYNE – A handful of community blood drive events are being scheduled for late December.

According to a release from LifeServe Blood Center, the group is seeking eligible blood donors to give blood at upcoming community blood drives this holiday season to prevent a blood shortage.

Each holiday season, schedules fill up with holiday plans and traditions, travel as well as other end of the year to-do tasks taking up time that folks may have otherwise spent at a blood donation appointment. Unfortunately, that decrease in donations does not line up with the increased need for blood in local medical centers.

Help keep your local hospital’s blood bank stocked by giving blood in your community at an upcoming blood drive.

The communities of Laurel, Coleridge, Hartington, Wayne and Randolph will host the upcoming blood drives.

Friday, December 17: Laurel Community Blood Drive from 2 – 6 p.m. at United Lutheran Church (305 West 3rd Street).

Monday, December 20: Coleridge Community Blood Drive from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. at the Coleridge Community Center (111 S. Main Street).

Monday, December 20: Hartington Community Blood Drive from 12:30 – 5:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church (106 W. Centre Street).

Wednesday, December 22: Logan Miller & Brooklyn Kruse Scholarship Blood Drive from 12:30 – 6 p.m. at the Wayne Fire Hall (510 Tomar Drive).

Wednesday, December 29: Wayne Community Blood Drive from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Wayne Fire Hall (510 Tomar Drive).

Thursday, December 30: Randolph Community Blood Drive from 1 – 6:30 p.m. at the Randolph Senior Citizen’s Center (104 W. Broadway).

Appointments are required as you can schedule a blood donation appointment online at lifeservebloodcenter.org or call 800-287-4903.
