HASTINGS – Both of the older Dirt Devil softball teams will be in action during the Class C State Tournament this weekend.
From the Nebraska USA Softball Complex in Hastings, the Dirt Devil 16/18s (15-13) will compete in the 29-team, three-game bracket while the Dirt Devil 14s (10-16) will take part in the 22-team, three-game bracket.
The Dirt Devil 16/18s will open with Seward Illusion 18 at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 8. A win for the Dirt Devils would match them up against the winner of either Cozad Classic White or Creighton Thunder at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
A loss for the Dirt Devil 16/18s would put them in a 7:45 p.m. Friday game against the loser of Seward/Creighton.
The Dirt Devil 14s will open with SWAT at 12:45 p.m. on Friday. A win for the Dirt Devils would match them up against David City Crossfire at 4:15 p.m. also on Friday.
A loss for the Dirt Devil 14s would put them in a 6 p.m. Friday game against the loser of either Verdigre Stingers or NEN – Pender/Wisner.
