UPDATE: Truck Convoy Protests Against Covid Mandates Continue – U.S. Convoy Planned

Ottawa, Canada – After two weeks, some truckers are still refusing to leave Ottawa where the original Canadian Freedom Convoy rallied. Ottawa Police are handing out a notice to participants of the Freedom Convoy threatening them with charges and convictions if they do not leave the area. And Ottawa’s police chief has resigned amid the trucker protests.

Canadian leader Justin Trudeau has made a decision to apply an emergency law to quell the trucker’s protests. However,  the prime ministers of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan have joined Quebec in opposing Trudeau’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act (War Measures Act) – an emergency law to quell truckers’ protests. The Canadian Civil Liberties Association states the government has not met the Emergencies Act threshold. And Ontario’s Premiere, Doug Ford, has called for an end to all mandates.
