WAYNE, NE – The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department has notified media outlets via email that they have issued their final reporting of Covid-19 data.

According to Molly Herman, MPH, CPH, Epidemiology Coordinator with NNPHD, “On May 11, 2023, the COVID-19 National Public Health Emergency ends. This changes what data we will have available to us. Please feel free to call NNPHD if you have any questions or concerns moving forward.”

According to The New York Times, the outbreak of the virus has sickened more than 80 million people and at least 1.7 million people died. By December of 2019, Covid-19 had spread to nearly every country on earth, upending life and derailing the global economy.

Shortly after that, NNPHD began reporting cases in the 4-county area served, following guidelines established by the Nebraska Department of Health.
