WAYNE – Due to an increased rate of COVID-19 in the area along with the new Directed Health Measures (DHMs) which began Wednesday, the Wayne Community Activity Center will also be making some changes.
According to a release from the Activity Center, the main doors will be closed for the time being.
Those with 24-hour access will still be able to visit the Wayne Community Activity Center and group fitness classes will still be provided.
Fitness rooms will be sanitized every hour between the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. as extra sanitizing bottles will be placed in the fitness rooms along with extra towels. CAC officials are wanting those who are in the fitness center to spray down the equipment before and after use.
To maintain social distance, every other piece of cardio equipment will be off limits as they’ll rotate every other day. Make sure to maintain six-feet of distance while in the fitness room and those who are working out are being asked to wear a mask.
Group fitness classes are being limited to eight people as registration is required for all classes. These fitness classes will be held in the gym to allow for social distancing and masks will be required at all times.
The instructor of the class will let those who registered in the main doors 15 minutes prior to class. Once the class ends, you’ll have 15 minutes to exit the main doors. If you want to use the 24-hour access, you’ll have to exit the main doors and re-enter through the 24-hour access door using your key fob.
If you would like to purchase a key fob/membership or renew an existing key fob/membership, call the Wayne Community Activity Center at 402-375-4803 between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. You must be 18 and older to use 24-hour access as privileges will be revoked indefinitely if you are caught letting people in who do not have an active key fob.
