Wayne Pony Baseball Team Opens Season With Road Victory, Didgets & Broncos Back In Action Thursday

SCHUYLER – After the didget and bronco Wayne baseball teams were in action earlier in the week, the pony division of the tri-county league began their summer schedule Wednesday night.

The Wayne pony baseball team took on Schuyler and won 13-5.

James Dorcey went 3-for-5 at the plate with a double while Aiden Liston went 2-for-4 at the plate. Calvin Starzl, Wyatt Heikes, Joe Woerdemann, Dom Dominguez, Sam Junck and Cooper Zara all added hits in the game.

James Dorcey picked up the win in three innings allowing one hit while striking out four batters and walking one. Wyatt Heikes worked three innings allowing five runs off three hits while striking out two batters and walking four as Aiden Liston pitched the final inning allowing one hit.

The Wayne pony baseball team will next host Pierce Blue on Wednesday, May 29 at 7 p.m. from the Summer Sports Complex.

The Wayne White didgets/broncos will visit Oakland-Craig Sluggers White at 6/7:45 p.m. while the Blue didgets/broncos will host Logan View Blue at 6/7:45 p.m. from the Summer Sports Complex Thursday night.
