O’NEILL/WISNER – The road stretch continues for the Wayne High volleyball team looking to get back on the winning track with a road triangular before participating in a late September volleyball classic.
The Blue Devils will take their 8-7 record to O’Neill and be joined by Hartington Cedar Catholic on Thursday, September 24.
WHS will look to snap a three-match losing streak to the host 8-5 Eagles and 9-9 Cedar Catholic Trojans.
Also, later this week, Wayne High will compete in the Wisner-Pilger September Classic on Saturday, September 26. The Blue Devils were seeded at #3 and will open with #6 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 10 a.m. in the south gym. The winner/loser would face either #2 Chambers/Wheeler Central or #7 Homer who follow the Wayne/LCC game.
In the north gym, #1 Humphrey St. Francis will open the morning at 10 a.m. against #8 Madison followed by #4 Wisner-Pilger vs. #5 Pierce. Semifinal games will follow the opening round before closing out the day with first, third, fifth and seventh place games.
