Wayne High District Baseball Postponed, Games Moved To Yutan

YUTAN – Along with a schedule change due to weather, the B-6 District Baseball Tournament featuring Wayne High will now be played in Yutan.

#1 Platte Valley (Ashland-Greenwood/Yutan/Mead) is the host of the B-6 Tournament with Thursday games being postponed due to weather. This is a single elimination tournament.

There’ll now be four games played on Friday, May 6 from Itan Park in Yutan.

#3 Wayne High (13-6) will open Friday morning with #6 GACC/Scribner-Snyder/West Point-Beemer (4-8) at 10 a.m. Pregame show coverage on The City ‘KCTY’ 98.9/1590 and waynedailynews.com is set for 9:45 a.m. Friday.

The WHS/Patriot winner will play #2 Beatrice (15-4) at 4 p.m. on Friday.

The other half of the bracket will feature #4 Ralston (10-9) vs. #5 Seward (5-16) at 1 p.m. with the winner to face #1 Platte Valley (17-5) at 7 p.m. Friday evening.

The B-6 District Tournament championship game is set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 at the highest reaming seed.

Other northeast Nebraska teams in action during postseason baseball:

#7 South Sioux City (3-15) will compete in the B-1 District hosted by Norris. The Cardinals will open with #2 Adams Central (9-6) now on Friday due to weather. Game time TBA.

#7 Thurston-Cuming County (Pender/BRLD/Emerson-Hubbard) (1-13) will compete in the B-3 District hosted by Central City/Fullerton/Centura. The TC Thunder will open with #2 Elkhorn (12-13) now on Friday due to weather at 2:30 p.m. from Kernel Field in Central City.

#5 Norfolk (4-20) will open the A-3 District against #4 Lincoln Northeast (10-16) at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 6. The winner will face the host, #1 Millard South (21-8) at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 7.
