Ralph Bishop League Tournament Senior Legion Scores, Wayne Juniors Have Game Moved To Scribner

WAKEFIELD – Senior American Legion baseball teams were in action during their first round of Ralph Bishop League Tournament action Tuesday night.

From Pierce, #6 Ponca defeated #11 Laurel (10-7) as #7 Pierce just edged #10 Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells (3-0) while the host #8 Tekamah-Herman was all over #9 Hooper/Scribner (11-3).

Second round Senior Legion games will be played on Friday, July 5 with Ponca playing #3 Arlington at 5:30 p.m. followed by Pierce taking on #2 Wakefield/Wayne Post 81 at 8 p.m. both in Wakefield while games in Pender will feature #4 West Point vs. #5 Columbus Lakeview at 5:30 p.m. followed by #1 Pender vs. T/H at 8 p.m.

 

Junior Legion second round games will take place this evening. The games previously scheduled in Pender have now been moved to Scribner due to field conditions. #4 Wayne Post 43 will face #5 Hooper/Scribner at 5:30 p.m. Wayne edged H/S earlier this year on June 5 (6-5) in Scribner. #2 Pender will then take on #10 Battle Creek at 8 p.m.

Games in West Point will feature #1 Columbus Lakeview vs. #9 Wakefield Post 81 at 5:30 p.m. followed by #3 West Point vs. #6 Arlington at 8 p.m.

Junior legion semis are set for Saturday, July 6 at noon and 2:30 p.m. in Battle Creek with the championship match slated for 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 7 in Wakefield.

For the Sr Legion tournament following their second round Friday games, they’ll also be in Battle Creek Saturday for the semi’s at 5/7:30 p.m. The RBL Senior Legion championship contest is slated for 7:30 p.m. Sunday from Eaton Field in Wakefield.

Third place games will be played at noon for the Juniors and 2:30 p.m. for the Seniors Sunday in Wakefield.
