Plainview Crowned Conference Champion By Over 100 Points

RANDOLPH – Lewis & Clark Conference wrestling programs came together Thursday throughout the day for a tournament.

From Randolph High School, nine teams made up the L&C Conference.

Plainview dominated the day with 272.5 points to place first in the team race ahead of runner-up Winside at 168.5 points. Creighton placed third with 113 points, Ponca finished fourth with 100 points and Wakefield/Allen came in fifth with 97.5 points.

Winnebago (sixth – 91), the host, Randolph (seventh – 77), Osmond (eighth – 68) and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (ninth – 43).

Winside was led by Koby Ellis (120) and Gabe Escalante (126) first; Jacoby Mann (106), Cayden Ellis (113), Art Escalante (138) and Michael Jensen (195) second; Tyler Carlson (132) third; Maddox Magwire (120) fourth; Matthew Frederick (126) and Dominic Reed (152) fifth as well as Alex Carlson (145) sixth.

LCC: Ethan Williams (220) second; Lenny Schumer (170) and Fischer Carson (220) third; Cody Martin (132) and Levi Jackson (152) sixth as well as Branden Meyer (132) and Nolan Ohlrich (145) seventh.

Ponca: Michael Logue (220) first; Andrew Daly (182) second; Hunter Bennett (160) and Ben McDuffee (285) third; Dalton Anderson (132) and Matt Logue (182) fourth; Brooke Languis (220) fifth as well as Garret James (120) and Hunter Mebourne (285) sixth.

Randolph: Noah Scott (170) first; Alex Schmit (145) and Brandon Bloomquist (152) second as well as Colby Wathor (160) fourth.

Wakefield/Allen: Isaac Verzani (152) first; Charlie Lopez (132) second; Wyatt Verzani (138) and Juan Lopez (145) third; Jeremiah Chase (126) fourth as well as Gabe Lamprecht (126) sixth.
