Four Divisions, 36 Youth Baseball Teams Scheduled To Visit Wakefield This Weekend

WAKEFIELD – For over three decades, the Lefty Olson Memorial Mid-Summer Classic has taken place and below are the brackets among the four different divisions.

A wide spread of different levels of baseball will be included this weekend from nine and under coach pitch, 10 and under player pitch, 12 and under (broncos) and 14 & under (ponies).

The 33rd annual Lefty Olson MSC will feature 36 youth baseball teams Friday, June 28 – Sunday, June 30.

9U Coach Pitch: All games to be played Sunday starting at 9 a.m. with the championship of A vs. B at 6 p.m.

Pool A: Allen, Ponca White and Wakefield

Pool B: South Sioux City, Ponca Blue and Blair

 

10U Player Pitch (didgets): Games to be played Friday and Saturday with a three-team round robin scheduled for Saturday at 5, 6:30 and 8 p.m. among the first place pool teams.

Pool A: Wakefield, Norfolk Steel and Blair

Pool B: Ashland, Wayne and Laurel

Pool C: O’Neill, Pierce and Hartington

 

12U Broncos: Games to be played Friday and Saturday with a three-team round robin scheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. among the first place pool teams.

Pool A: Wakefield, Laurel and Dakota Valley

Pool B: O’Neill, Pierce and Oakland

Pool C: Wayne, Ashland and Norfolk Steel

 

14U Ponies: Game will be played Friday and Saturday with the top pool teams to be seeded in a four-team bracket with the semi-finals to be played at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday followed by the championship game at 3 p.m.

Pool A: Wakefield, Wausa and Siouxland Stars

Pool B: Laurel, Wayne and Oakland

Pool C: Gladiators, Hastings and Blair 13s

Pool D: Lincoln Blacksox, Blair 14s and Royals
