Blue Didgets Shutout Pierce, Blue Broncos Suffer Home Loss To Logan View Gold During Rescheduled Games

PIERCE/WAYNE – A pair of Tri County League baseball teams in Wayne were in action Tuesday evening for make-up games.

The Wayne Blue Didgets visited Pierce while the Wayne Blue Broncos hosted Logan View Gold.

In the younger division, the Wayne Blue Didgets were scheduled to visit Pierce on May 27 but the game was called off due to rain. Tuesday night, Wayne won 12-0 improving to 4-0.

Easton Endicott recorded two doubles and a single as Tucker Raveling added three singles and four RBI. Colston Starzl doubled and tripled with three RBI, Brayden Werher singled and tripled, Easton Gamble singled and drove in a run as Kyle Brogren scored twice.

Endicott picked up the win in three innings allowing one hit while striking out eight batters. Kash Haase worked three innings and struck out six batters.

 

From the 12U category, the Wayne Blue Broncos started their home game against Logan View Gold on May 24 but it was also called off due to weather. Logan View Gold won 7-4 Tuesday evening in the rescheduled game. Wayne Blue is now 1-2 on the season.

Logan View Gold took the early lead of 2-1 in the first before scoring three runs in the second. Wayne Blue outscored the visiting team, 3-2 in the third but neither team scored in the final three innings which favored Logan View Gold, 7-4.

Alejandro Archundia singled and scored twice, Blake Smith singled and scored as Chase Sturm singled. Parker Zara accounted for two RBI as Karter Hays scored.

Chase Sturm (52 pitches) suffered the loss in two and a third innings allowing seven earned runs off six hits while striking out four batters and walking two. Blake Smith (32 pitches) worked the final two and a third innings allowing two runs while striking out three batters.

The Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos will next visit Emerson-Hubbard on Thursday, June 3 at 6/7:45 p.m. while the Wayne White Didgets and Broncos will next host Bancroft/Lyons also at 6/7:45 p.m.

In the Ponies Division, Wayne Blue is 1-2 and will next visit Howells/Dodge this evening at 7 p.m. while Wayne White is 2-1 and will next host North Bend Central tonight at 7 p.m. The Pony Tournament Team is 2-and will participate in the Spencer Slugfest Tournament in Spencer, Iowa this weekend.
