Ticket Deadline For Chamber Banquet Is Friday

WAYNE – Time is winding down to purchase individual tickets or a reserved table of eight for the upcoming Wayne Area Economic Development (WAED) Banquet.

Put on the by the Special Events Committee through WAED, the banquet will be held at the Beaumont Event & Concert Hall on Sunday, January 26. The doors will open at 4 p.m. for a social hour with the dinner to follow at 5 p.m. and then the dessert auction and awards program later in the evening.

Tickets are available at the WAED office as reserved tables of eight can be purchased for $275 which will include one drink ticket per person. Individual tickets will be $30 each as tickets and tables must be reserved by Friday, January 17.

Those who attend are encouraged to get into the theme of “Swinging into the 20s” by dressing up as prizes will be awarded for the best dressed. A photo booth will be available for attendees to capture the special evening.

The silent auction will also have items displayed for bidding during the social hour and dinner.

From the 2019 auctions, WAED was able to fund a second scholarship at WSC. Each year, the chamber will contribute $500 to a business student at WSC in addition to the original $500 band day scholarship.

Awards for the Business of the Year, Most Valuable Patron, Educator of the Year and Citizen of the Year will be honored throughout the evening.

The office is also looking for tasty and beautiful desserts for the second annual dessert auction. Money raised from the auction will go towards public art projects in the community. Contact WAED at 402-375-2240 or stop by 108 West 3rd Street if you have any questions.
