Ribbon Cutting Features New Business On Main Street

WAYNE – Owners, Travis Meyer and Kelby Herman have continued the appliance business on Main Street in downtown Wayne since the first week of April. Community members enjoyed seeing some changes and hearing more about the business Friday morning.

Chamber Coffee was held at 306 Main Street, formerly Doeschers Appliances Sales & Service, now Select Appliance.

Meyer said one of the biggest items they plan to keep, is serving the customer.

“Darrell bent over backwards to help customers out and we’re continuing to do the same thing,” said Meyer. “We did bring in another line of LG along with GE.”

Select Appliance hours are Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. – Noon. The business will accommodate if customers can’t make it over the lunch hour or off by 5 p.m. In the future, Select Appliance would like to stay open on Thursday nights until 7 p.m.

Call Select Appliance at 402-375-3683 and visit them on Facebook to see photos and information posted.

Meyer added, as business progresses, they would like to do more for the community including partaking in the Q125 parade in Laurel on Sunday, June 17.

“We’ll be in the Chicken Days parade here on Chicken Days,” Meyer added. “I’m trying to reach out to your Pender’s, your Emerson’s to let them know about the change. But, yet we still our here, it’s just a different name.”

Select Appliance held a ribbon cutting Friday morning to honor the new business. Also, besides selling LG and GE appliances, Select Appliance services all brands of appliances.
