FLOOD PULLS IN OSBORNE ENDORSEMENT

FLOOD - "I'm honored to have his support."

NORFOLK, NE – First District congressional candidate Mike Flood has added another ‘big name’ to his list of personal endorsements.

 

Former U.S. congressman and University of Nebraska Cornhuskers head football coach Dr. Tom Osborne announced his support of conservative Republican Mike Flood to be the next congressman from Nebraska’s 1st Congressional District.

 

In announcing his endorsement of Flood, Osborne says – “Mike Flood is an excellent member of the Legislature and was very effective as Speaker. I believe that he would take those same skills to Washington in representing Nebraska.”

 

 

FLOOD RESPONDS

“Tom Osborne has had a tremendous impact not only on our state, but on every life he’s touched,” said Flood. “I’m honored to have his support.”

 

Osborne represented Nebraska’s 3rd Congressional District from January 3rd of 2001 until January 3rd of 2007. He was succeeded by Adrian Smith who is currently the 3rd District Congressman and who has announced his intentions to run again this year.

 

Osborne’s storied football career includes Hastings from 1955-1958, San Francisco 49ers in 1959, and Washington Redskins in 1960 and 1961. He began his coaching career as an Assistant at Nebraska from 1964 to 1968, offensive coach from 1969 to 1972, and head coach from 1973 to 1997. Administrative duties at UNL continued through 2013.
