4H Rabbits Take to the Stage

MADISON – Summer brings many fairs to Nebraska and with the fairs comes the opportunity for people to show off their animals.

On Wednesday, 4H kids that took part in the rabbit show at the Madison County Fair.

4-H is one of America’s largest youth development organizations; it gives kids hands-on learning experience.

Rabbit showmanship is just one example of the hands-on learning children are getting, Wednesday that knowledge was on display.

As parents and friends looked on, the kids presented their rabbits to a judge in efforts to take home a ribbon or trophy.

Brittany and Breanna Borchers are sisters that participated in the rabbit show, each won 1st place in their particular divisions.

Breanna spoke about what winning means to her, saying that winning means that all the hard they put into the rabbits has paid off.

There are more animal shows still to come from 4H at the Madison County Fair.

Horse, hog, goat, calf, sheep, cat, dog, chicken and companion animal shows are on the schedule in the upcoming days.
