Danish Alps SRA To Host Free Saturday Outdoor Event

HUBBARD – Activities will continue at a State Recreation Area (SRA) in northeast Nebraska.

The Danish Alps SRA is comprised of a 219-acre Kramper lake surrounded by 520 acres of parkland located near Hubbard.

For the fourth consecutive weekend in June an outdoor event will take place.

Meet at the Richard Connealy Picnic area for this free event at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. Participants will learn how to survive the outdoors. This class teaches the skills related to starting a fire, orienteering yourself, providing food and many more skills while in the outdoors.

Closing out the month of June the following week will be a nature hike. This free event will be held on Saturday, June 29 at 10 a.m. and feature a guided hike through some of Danish Alps’ great trails. Attendees will learn about wildlife, plants, history and more. The hike will be approximately 1.75 miles through the Fork Loop and Prairie Hill Loop trails as binoculars are provided.
