Vaccination Distribution Update, NNPHD Health District COVID-19 Report

WAYNE – COVID-19 vaccines continue to roll out in the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department’s health district of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties.

According to a release from NNPHD, through Monday, February 8 a total of 3,387 individuals in the Health District have received COVID-19 vaccinations. Broken down, 2,432 (14%) have received the first dose while another 955 (4.04%) have received the second dose. The percentage shown is for the 23,667 people in the health district who can receive the vaccine.

COVID-19 vaccinations are currently prioritized for the 65+ age group.

As vaccine is available, one of the vaccine providers in the health district will contact those in the priority group who have registered for the vaccine through the local or state health department and will schedule an appointment with them for their shot. Your patience is appreciated as the vaccine is still in limited supply.

Also, there were another seven additional COVID-19 positives reported as of Tuesday evening.

Of the 3,568 total positives, 3,195 have since recovered and there have been nearly 25,000 total cumulative negatives and over 28,500 total tests for the NNPHD Health District.

Tuesday’s report also included new positives since last report/total positives/total number recovered for each county in the health district. Cedar (1/853/746); Dixon (1/622/545); Thurston (3/1,082/953) and Wayne (2/1,011/951).
