Funeral Services for Twila M. (Heier) Wiltse, age 90, of Wayne, will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Visitation will be on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Wayne. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Wayne. She passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at her home at Kinship Pointe in Wayne. Memorial contributions recommended to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne or Providence Medical Hospice. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Twila Marie Wiltse was born July 25, 1933, at Wayne, Nebraska, the daughter of Fred and Helena (Bartling) Heier.  She was a lifelong resident of Wayne, graduating from Wayne High School in 1951.  Twila married W. Rowan Wiltse April 17, 1953, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne, and they shared 63 years together before he preceded her in death January 22, 2017. Twila graduated from Wayne State College and spent many years teaching at Wayne Middle School, mostly 5th grade. Upon retirement she and Rowan enjoyed many winters as “Winter Texans.” She was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was a long-time volunteer for Providence Hospice.  She was also a member of PEO Chapter AZ for over 50 years.

Survivors include son, Mark Wiltse of Wayne; daughter, Carol (R. Joseph) Potts of Racine, WI; four grandchildren: Michelle (Tim) Gesell of Seward, Michael (Jess Doerr) of Lincoln, Melissa (Jason) Kobs of Colorado Springs, CO and Katlyn (Mike) LaScola of Bayside, WI; special daughter-in-law, Lou Wiltse of Wayne; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Rev. Harlan Heier of Lincoln, Byron (Barbara) Heier of Wayne; sisters-in-law, Betty Heier of Wayne and Renee (Don) Cunningham of Phoenix, AZ and close friends, Ron and Pat Carnes of Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Willard and Florence (Beckenhauer) Wiltse; brother, Darrel Heier, and sister-in-law, Shirley Heier.
