Wildcat Women Finish Fourth, Taylor Ties For 10th During Three-Day NSIC Golf Championships

SMITHVILLE, MO – One last round of 18 was played over the weekend for the Wayne State College women’s golf team.

From Paradise Pointe in Smithville, Missouri, the Wildcats completed their 54-hole NSIC Women’s Golf Championship competition.

Wayne State College remained fourth from Saturday into Sunday’s results with a final round of 314 (tied for the second-best round of the day). WSC posted rounds of 331, 308 and 314 for a total of 953 to place fourth; 21-shots better than Concordia-St. Paul in fifth.

Wayne State College was led by Jazmine Taylor tying for 10th with a 235 (82/75/78) followed by Erica Lee (83/76/79) and Abbey Kurmel (80/79/79) both tying for 12th with a 238.

Other scoring came from Saffire Sayre in 19th with a 242 (86/78/78) while Abby Brodersen took 29th with a 252 (87/82/83).

Results.

Augustana led the entire three rounds with scores of 300, 310 and 300 for a 910 finishing 29-shots better than Winona State’s 308, 305, 326 for a 939. Minnesota State-Mankato finished third with a 947 (305-318-324).

Carly Moon from Winona State was crowned conference champion with a five-over par 221 (72/72/77) two-shots better than Lauren Tims of Augustana’s 223 (71/78/74).
