Wayne High Boys Golf Participates In Oakland-Craig Invite

OAKLAND – After hosting the Knights earlier in the week, the Wayne High boys golf team participated in the Oakland-Craig Invite on Saturday.

From the Oakland Golf Club, the Blue Devils were among 20 varsity teams in action.

Wayne High finished 12th out of the 17 qualifying varsity teams with a 382.

Leading the Way for WHS was Colson Nelsen with a 90 followed by Caiden Backer with a 92.

Other Blue Devil results came from Joseph Woerdemann (99), Dylan Jensen (101) and Mason Karsky (106).

OC Invite Results

Archbishop Bergan won the Oakland-Craig Invite with a 314, Logan View followed in second (326), Yutan took third (331), Tekamah-Herman placed fourth (337) as North Bend Central and Bishop Neumann both rounded out the top five teams with a tie posting a 341.

Boston Bojanski from Archbishop Bergan edged Zach Johnson from West Point-Beemer by a stroke shooting a 75 as the individual champion. A total of 95 golfers were in action.

The Wayne High boys golf team will next take part in the Mid State Conference meet hosted in O’Neill on Tuesday, April 30 starting at 9 a.m. WHS will also host the Wayne ‘Mac’ Invite at the Wayne Country Club on Thursday, May 2 also with a 9 a.m. tee time.
