WAKEFIELD – For a second year members with Wakefield FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) will be hosting an annual youth track and field event.
According to a release, the event will take place on Wednesday, May 8 at 5:30 p.m. from Gardner Stadium in Wakefield.
Payment on the evening of the 8th is being requested while checks can be made payable to Wakefield Community Schools. Cost is $10 per child and each participant will receive a ribbon for each event they participate in.
Funds will support Wakefield FBLA sending three members to Nationals this summer.
Youth in kindergarten through third grade will be able to participate in up to three events from long jump, shot put, 50-meter low hurdles, 50-meter run or 100-meter run.
Those in the fourth to sixth grade category will be able to participate in up to three events from the long jump, shot put, 100-meter low hurdles, 100-meter run, 200-meter run and 400-meter run.
A registration deadline has been set for Tuesday, May 7.
