ALBION – With a week off of competition for most of the varsity members of the Wayne High girls and boys track & field program, the Mid State Conference meet showcased top talent among the region.

From the Boone Central Athletic Complex in Albion, nine teams made up conference action.

Head Blue Devil track and field coach, Dale Hochstein said, “in our pre-meet meeting we asked them to not think about what their seeds were going in, but to go out and compete; you can only control your own performance.  One school record, one tied school record, two conference champions and 35 personal bests were recorded by our athletes today (Saturday). With the tough competition of our conference, that is all the coaches can ask for and our team delivered.”

The Wayne High girls finished eighth with 22 points while the Blue Devils boys recorded 40 points to place fifth in the team standings.
