OMAHA – NSAA State Wrestling Championships came to an end on Saturday from consolation semifinals before getting into the medal round.
One last time at the CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha, all four boys classes as well as girls wrestlers were in action.
Class B Wayne’s Garrett Schultz (120) finished 40-6 with a silver medal. Schultz suffered a loss by major decision (9-1) against Hunter Jacobsen (Waverly).
As a team, the Wayne boys recorded 22 points to tie for 25th.
Nyla Bolles (130) picked up a win by decision (2-0) over Micah McGillivray (Stanton) to earn a bronze medal to finish her season at (39-11) .
The Wayne girls accumulated 23 points to finish tied for 30th.
Area wrestlers who earned a first place medal:
Girls: Omaha Westside was crowned state champion with 111 points just edging Grand Island (110).
Madelynn Bohnet (105/South Sioux City) and Caitlyn Sohm (235/South Sioux City).
2024 Girls State Wrestling Championships
Class A: Millard South was crowned team champion with 199 points ahead of Creighton Prep (154).
Class B: Waverly was crowned team champion with 176 points ahead of Omaha Skutt Catholic (167.5).

Class C: Battle Creek was crowned team champion with 127 points ahead of Broken Bow (98).
Ryan Stusse Jr. (120/Battle Creek), Brek Thompson (175/Battle Creek), Robbie Fisher (126/Crofton-Bloomfield) and Wyatt Tramp (165/Crofton-Bloomfield).
Class D: Aquinas Catholic was crowned team champion with 118.5 points ahead of Shelby-Rising City (84).
