Wayne Public Library Weekly Schedule

WAYNE – Another month full of activities for youth and adults are being planned for at the Wayne Public Library.

According to a release, the Wayne Public Library is located at 410 Pearl Street.

2024 Calendar – May

Become a member of the Herb Club where every month a new take-and-make kit will be available, including one herb sample, recipes and tips for using the herb, as well as suggested cookbooks for using the herb that are available for checkout in the library collection.

A community potluck based around all of the herbs has been scheduled for August 17 at 5 p.m. This month’s herb is Rosemary.

Adult craft night is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 at 6 p.m. The group will be making gnomes.

Adult Coloring will return on Tuesday, May 14 at 6 p.m. in the back of the library. Stop in for a relaxing night and good company. Colors, coloring sheets and snacks are provided sponsored by the Endicott Family.

This month’s trivia night will be a 2000s theme on Friday, May 17 at 7 p.m. from Johnnie Byrd Brewing Company in the Coop. Register your team of four to six people at the library as space is limited for this first-come, first-serve event. Prizes for the overall champion and best-dressed will be awarded.

Mark Tuesday, May 21 on the calendar between 6 – 7 p.m. for basic tech help. Stop by the library if you have questions about your devices or basic computer skills. Attendees can also use this session to enhance tech knowledge and make the most of your devices.

Teens and Tweens are invited to participate in Lo-Fi Friday on May 23 at 3:30 p.m. A relaxation day will be offered including bath bombs, a thought journal, aroma therapy and more.

Needle night continues each Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Enjoy conversation and good company while working on your personal needlework projects. All kinds of decorative sewing and textile arts handicrafts are welcome.

Book club will return on Tuesday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m. from the library conference room. The monthly book pick is ‘Giants in the Earth’ by O.E. Rolvaag. All are welcome at the book club as participants can attend every meeting or just the ones for the books that interest you. Books are available to check out at the library.

A kick-off bouncy house and carnival will mark the start of the Summer Reading Program on Saturday, June 1. Games and prizes to win will be awarded while logs will be given at the carnival. Registration for the program is now open. Stop by the library or call them to get added to the list of participants. To sign up your family, click on the google form below.

Wayne Public Library hours include Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and the library will be open on Sundays from 2 – 5 p.m. Summer hours will begin on Sunday, May 26 with the library being closed each Sunday until the Fall.

The Wayne Public Library will be closed on Saturday, May 25 for cleaning and closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.
