Wayne Public Library Weekly Schedule

WAYNE – Another month full of activities for youth and adults are being planned for at the Wayne Public Library.

According to a release, the Wayne Public Library is located at 410 Pearl Street.

One more performance will be put on by the Wayne State College Children’s Theatre at 10 a.m. being ‘Collin’s Big Adventure’ on Thursday, April 25.

Mark Tuesday, April 16 on the calendar between 6 – 7 p.m. for basic tech help. Stop by the library if you have questions about your devices or basic computer skills.

Teens and Tweens are invited to participate in Lo-Fi Friday on April 19 at 3:30 p.m. This month’s activity will be creating ‘Flowerium Light Bulb Jars’.

Become a member of the Herb Club where every month a new take-and-make kit will be available, including one herb sample, recipes and tips for using the herb, as well as suggested cookbooks for using the herb that are available for checkout in the library collection.

A community potluck based around all of the herbs has been scheduled for August 17 at 5 p.m. This month’s herb is Chickweed.

A new program, titled ‘Beyond the Bell’ will offer a fun craft activity each Wednesday after school. For this month, April 17 at 3:30 p.m. will be water coloring and April 24 at 3:30 p.m. will be a ping-pong drop game.

Toddler time returns on Thursday, April 18 at 10 a.m. Plan on playing a puddle jump game on April 18.

One more after-school coloring event will take place in April. Friday, April 26 will feature a string pull art with both events at 3:30 p.m.

Needle night continues each Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Enjoy conversation and good company while working on your personal needlework projects. All kinds of decorative sewing and textile arts handicrafts are welcome.

Book club will return on Tuesday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the library conference room. This month’s discussion book will be ‘The Four Winds’ by Kristin Hannah. In 1934 Texas, during the Great Depression’s Dust Bowl era, farmers struggled as drought and dust threatened their livelihoods. Elsa Martinelli faces a tough choice: stay and fight for her land or move to California for a better life. ‘The Four Winds’ portrays America and the American Dream through Elsa’s story of courage and sacrifice.

Wayne Public Library hours include Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and the library will be open on Sundays from 2 – 5 p.m.

The Wayne Public Library book and resale store, The Recycled Read, is open every first Saturday of the month at 110 Logan Street. The next date will be Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Donations are accepted during store hours and at the library during regular business hours, but textbooks or encyclopedias will not be accepted as poor-conditioned items may also be refused.
