Wayne Power Drive State Competition Results, Car A107 Secures Back-To-Back Titles With 14th In Program History

WAYNE – A fourth straight weekend of Power Drive action closed out with state competition this past weekend in Wayne.

From the First National Bank of Omaha Call Center, Saturday provided perfect racing weather during the 2024 Power Drive Championships.

Advanced class car A107 driven by Braden Adams competed in five events with points being awarded in each event going towards the overall award, similar to a track meet. First place results were awarded in the categories of Braking, Design and Construction as well as Documentation along with runner-up categories of Maneuverability and Endurance completing 104 laps (24 miles) during the 90-minute competition.

Wayne Power Drive Tyler and Wyatt double checking prior to the race.Enough points were received for the A107 to win the overall award and the 2024 Advanced Class Championship.  This is back-to-back championships for car A107 and the 14th Wayne Power Drive State Championship.

Head Wayne Power Drive coach, Tony Cantrell said, “both cars pushed hard throughout the race being in the top four of all classes of competition.”

E39 completed a late rally pass for a second place finish locking in Exhibition class Runner-up completing 149 laps (34.27 miles). With mechanical issues for E22, two pit stops were needed leading to a fourth place Endurance finish completing 138 laps (31.74 miles) but winning Best Paint

All of Wayne’s cars placed in the top five of all cars in total miles completed this season.

Car E39 in second place (130.41 total miles) and just a quarter-mile behind the leader while Car E22 finished third (126.88) and Car A107 in fifth place (106.96).
