Pender Native Takes Home Fifth Place Medal At National Speech Tournament

WAYNE – Among the eight qualifiers representing the Wayne State College forensics team, a fifth place finish was posted last month.

According to a release, WSC competed in the National Forensics Association (NFA) National Speech Tournament at Central Michigan University April 18 – 22.

Zachery Randall from Pender finished fifth place in the Novice Impromptu Speaker category.

Other Wildcat competitors included Olivia Perske (David City), Corbin Kinney (Elgin), Jadyn Burenheide (Howells), Chloe Hibler (Plattsmouth), Faatimah Kouatli (Stanton), Brayden Almgren (Stuart) and Kirsten Fike (York).

Brayden Almgren of Stuart and Kirsten Fike of York finished among the top 48 in the Duo Interpretation (Octafinalist) as did Jadyn Burenheide of Howells in the Extemporaneous Speaking category as an Octafinalist.
