Child involved in Amber Alert is found; Colorado woman is arrested after pursuit

Authorities found a child involved in an Amber Alert case and arrested a 46-year-old Colorado woman after a pursuit that ended southwest of Lincoln.

About 10 p.m. Thursday, a Nebraska State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder for speeding on U.S. Highway 6 near Sutton in southeast Nebraska. The driver refused to stop and accelerated, leading to the pursuit.

Speeds reached 115 mph as the SUV passed through Fillmore County into Saline County, the patrol said.

Saline County Sheriff’s Office deputies put down spike strips, bringing the Nissan to a stop just east of Friend about 10:30 p.m., the patrol said.

The Thornton, Colorado, woman was taken into custody and the missing child was found inside the vehicle.
