WAYNE – With graduation approaching this weekend for Wayne High seniors, a regularly scheduled Wayne Community Schools Board of Education meeting will open this evening at 5 p.m. The Finance Board will review claims prior to the regular agenda at 4:30 p.m.
From the Jr/Sr High School Library, Jamie Behmer, a Heartland Counselor will provide a presentation to the board.
Second readings in old business will highlight the 2022-23, 7-12 Student Handbook as well as the 2022-23 Kids Club Handbook.
Moving into new business, board members will hear more about a Construction Management at Risk Process before addressing action items on a Sysco Food Service Agreement as well as computer lab work stations and monitors quote.
Superintendent Dr. Mark Lenihan will next provide a strategic plan update, SIMPL report, review the Business and Industry Committee meeting from April 14, A Rainbow World Summer Camp and Community Facility Committee update.
Other administrative reports will feature the high school principal, special education/early learning center, elementary principal and junior high principal/activities director.
The monthly Honor Coffee will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Jr/Sr High School Commons. FCCLA STAR competitors from the state competition will be recognized. They include Alexis Hamik, Alondra Vega, Natasha Petersen, Regan Fernau, Brooklyn Mattison, Avery Herman and Rylin Hall.
