Trojan Volleyball Secures Four-Set Victory Monday Night  

HOMER – Lewis & Clark Conference volleyball teams who didn’t advance from Saturday’s pool play were placed into a single match from a pair of locations Monday as the Wakefield Trojans were in action.

From Homer Community Schools, Wakefield joined three teams on the evening competing in one contest to close out Monday night.

Wakefield recorded a four-set victory over Homer (25-18, 26-28, 25-22, 25-21) winning their second match in three days to now sit 7-20. Homer fell to 10-14.

Alex Arenas finished with a double-double recording 12 kills and 24 digs to go along with four aces while Hayden Ekberg added 10 kills and two aces to lead Wakefield. Rachel Borg came away with six kills; Aishah Valenzuela tacked on 17 digs; Abby Heimann posted 15 set assists, seven digs, two aces and three kills as Jordan Metzler recorded nine set assist and seven service aces.

The Wakefield volleyball team is scheduled to host the Wakefield tournament this Thursday, October 22 featuring Homer, West Point-Beemer and Winnebago starting at 5 p.m.
