WSC Women’s Soccer To Face Top Three Conference Teams In Eight Days

ST. PAUL, MN – The Wayne State College women’s soccer team has three matches left on the regular season schedule against three ranked opponents among their region, and two being on the road.

WSC is 6-5-4 overall (6-4-2 NSIC) and have won just one of their past four outings after defeating Minnesota Crookston 2-0 on Sunday, October 27 on the road. WSC lost 3-0 to Bemidji State last Friday and the weekend before tied 1-1 against Northern State and dropped a 1-0 decision with MSU Moorhead in Wayne.

The Wildcats currently have 20 points and are in a three-way tie for fifth in the conference.

First up for WSC will be a 7 p.m. start time at #15 Concordia-St. Paul on Friday, November 1. CSP is 13-0-2 overall and 10-0-2 in league play leading the NSIC with 32 points.

Then, the ‘Cats will host #19 Minnesota State-Mankato (13-2/10-2 NSIC, third with 30 points) on Sunday, November 3 at 1 p.m. and end their regular season at Augustana University (12-2-1/10-1-1 NSIC, second with 31 points) on Friday, November 8 at 3 p.m.

All three teams are ranked inside the top 10 of the NCAA DII Central Region with Concordia-St. Paul being the second-best team in the region behind Central Missouri. MSU-Mankato sits third and Augustana is sixth. Bemidji State is fourth while University of Mary is eighth in this week’s regional rankings.
