WAYNE – Another update was released Friday through the afternoon from Thursday’s storm.

According to the National Weather Service, the Winter Weather Advisory that was expected to expire Friday morning was extended to noon today.

The message of the day called for snow and blowing snow with up to one inch of additional accumulation in the tri-state area from Wayne north, northwest down to Columbus west.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation pulled their snow plows off the road Thursday evening due to poor visibility. Officials from the Nebraska DOT had the plows back on the roads Friday morning around 5 a.m.

All of the winter storm warnings were cancelled.

The NWS is reporting minimum wind chill values Friday night of 10 below around Norfolk and as low as 14 below near Vermillion, South Dakota. Strong northwest winds with 35-45 mph gusts will continue through the morning.
