Wayne Tri County Youth Baseball Teams All Win

EMERSON/WAYNE – All four youth baseball teams were in action Thursday evening in Tri County League play.

The Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos visited Emerson-Hubbard as the Didgets won 10-5 to remain undefeated at 5-0 and the Broncos won 10-6 to improve to 2-2 while the Wayne White Didgets and Broncos hosted Bancroft/Lyons where the Didgets won 7-1 to improve to 3-2 and the Broncos won 18-9 to now sit 3-1 on the season.

In the Wayne Blue Broncos competition, Wayne outscored Emerson-Hubbard, 4-1 in the third and added two more runs in the fourth to lead 6-1. Both teams scored a run in the fifth while Emerson-Hubbard outscored Wayne Blue, 4-3 in the sixth but Wayne Blue held on for the 10-6 victory.

Blake Smith singled three times and scored while Parker Zara singled, drove in a run and scored. Spencer Moormeier singled and drove in a run, Chase Sturm accounted for three RBI, Alejandro Archundia added a RBI and two runs scored, Karter Hays tallied a RBI, Joe Leatherdale scored twice while other single runs came from Cale Eischeid, Eric Recardez, Aiden Petersen and Reece Ames.

Adrian Contreras (56 pitches) secured the win in four innings allowing one run off one hit while striking out nine batters. Zara (22 pitches) worked two-thirds of an inning allowing one run while walking three batters. Archundia (23 pitches) pitched the final inning and a third allowing four earned runs off four hits while striking out three batters and walking one.

From the Wayne Blue Didgets outing, Easton Endicott recorded a three-run homerun, a double and finished with five RBI. Liam Rockhill added a double, single and RBI; Colston Starzl singled three times, drove in a run and scored twice; Brayden Wehrer singled and scored; Cameron Ellyson scored twice while Tucker Raveling, Carson Heiser, Kyle Brogren and Kash Haase all scored once.

Wehrer started the opening four innings allowing four runs while striking out five batters. Easton Gamble worked an inning allowing one run while striking out one batter.

 

During the Wayne White Broncos game, Wayne led early 5-1 before outscoring Bancroft/Lyons 11-7 in a high scoring second inning. Wayne White scored two more runs in the third while Bancroft/Lyons tallied a run in the top of the fourth which favored the Wayne White Broncos, 18-9.

Will Patefield recorded a homerun, double, two RBI and three runs scored while Jenner Dorey doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice. Tate Holz singled twice, drove in three runs and scored; Shawn Thompson singled, drove in a run and scored; Maddox Heithold singled and drove in two runs; Herwin Bernal and Lakin Stange both scored three times; Jackson McMenamin and James Birkel both scored twice as Camden Hall scored once.

Hall (56 pitches) secured the win in two innings allowing eight runs (one earned) off six hits while striking out five batters and walking one. Birkel (38 pitches) worked two innings allowing an earned run off two hits while striking out and walking two batters each.

In the Wayne White Didgets victory, Evan Greve tossed five shutout innings with Sam Leseberg, Zaven Jurgensen and Noah Magnuson recording hits.

The Wayne White Didgets and Broncos will next host Stanton on Monday, June 7 at 6/7:45 p.m. while the Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos will next visit Tekamah-Herman at 6/7:45 p.m.
