PONCA – A roughly four-month long event hosted at Ponca State Park continues over the holiday break being the Snowman Building Contest.

According to a release, it can be a snowman, snow animal or even a detailed snow sculpture.

Make plans to visit Ponca State Park in Ponca, NE to build a snow-creation.

The Fifth annual Snowman Building Contest began on November 25 and will last through March 19 (the last day of winter). Winners will be announced on March 21, 2019.

Once the snow-creation is completed, visit the Resource & Education Center to register your entry or email the park a photo. Also include the location of your creation and contact information.

Photos of all entries will be displayed throughout the winter season in the lobby of the center and on the Ponca State Park Facebook page.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three with the winner earning a free night’s stay in a Ponca State Park mini lodge.

More information can be found by calling Ponca State Park at 402-755-2284 or emailing Event Coordinator Lynn Mellick at lynn.mellick@nebraska.gov.
