Midwest Land Hosts Final Chamber Coffee Of The Year, Celebrates 60 Years Of Service

WAYNE – As 2018 comes to a close next week, community members were able to come together one last time before the year ends during the final Friday morning Chamber Coffee.

From Midwest Land Company, located at 206 Main Street, the public was welcomed in.

Midwest Land Company offers real estate and farm brokerage services in Nebraska and Iowa and formed in 1957 as a Nebraska corporation.

Dave Ewing is a broker with Midwest Land. Ewing has been with the company since 1976 which started around 1948 by his father.

“We’re also licensed in Colorado although we don’t presently do business in Colorado,” said Ewing. “We also have, in the Farm Sales and Management, we cover both Iowa and Nebraska. So, we cover all kinds of real estate; we specialize in those areas.”

The company organization includes the departments of Farm Sales, Farm Management and Residential Sales.

Marion Arneson is another broker as along with Ewing are licensed in Nebraska, Iowa and Colorado.

Residential sales go through Melissa Urbanec while farm sales go to Galen Wiser as Patricia Arneson is also a broker. Leah Ahlers is another employer at Midwest Land Company as the office manager.

About 37 years ago, Midwest Land Company began a tradition called “End of the year Office Party”.

“We started that to just wrap up the old year with friends and fellow business owners,” Ewing added. “At first it was just downtown businesses, but over the years we’ve expanded to include friends and associates from all around the area.”

Midwest Land Company invites all to attend from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. Friday to enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

“We used to do this on the final workday, Monday – Friday workday,” Ewing mentioned. “But, we kind of figured most people were not going to be working on Monday, so we accelerated it this year to Friday.”
