Troopers Find Controlled Substances and a Gun in Traffic Stops

OMAHA — Multiple controlled substances and a loaded handgun are in the hands of authorities, and four people are in jail after two traffic stops last Thursday, October 18th.

The first traffic stop happened near Shelton, NE on Interstate 80. A Nebraska State Trooper smelled marijuana during the stop and searched the vehicle. The trooper found 16 pounds of marijuana and 11 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms. The driver of the car, 26-year-old Keith Reed, and the passenger, 29-year-old Lana Landers, were both arrested for multiple charges. Both are lodged in Buffalo County Jail

At a second traffic stop near Omaha, NE on Interstate 80, a Nebraska State Trooper found 40 pounds of marijuana and two ounces of an unknown white powder in a vehicle, along with a loaded handgun. The search also came after the trooper smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver, 23-year-old Cesar Medina, and the passenger, 38-year-old Macie Braunstein, were both arrested for multiple charges. Both are lodged in Douglas County Jail.
