South Sioux City Students Asked to Self-Quarantine After Possible Coronavirus Exposure

SOUTH SIOUX CITY – School and health officials are asking 12 South Sioux City students to self-quarantine after possible exposure to coronavirus.

South Sioux City Community Schools and the Dakota County Health Department say Monday that the announcement comes after their local Special Olympics team participated in a tournament at the Fremont YMCA on February 29th.

The twelve students that participated are at low risk due to limited, if any, exposure to a person diagnosed with COVID-19 who was at the same event.

Out of caution, officials are asking the team and staff from South Sioux City, Dakota City and Dakota County who participated, to self-quarantine, self-report and monitor themselves until Saturday, March 14.
