One person, two dogs die in Lincoln house fire

One person and two dogs were killed Wednesday night in a house fire in Lincoln.

A neighbor reported “flames showing from windows” at 1930 S. 44th St. just after 11:15 p.m., a spokeswoman for the Lincoln Fire Department said. Upon arrival, crews reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the house. They attacked the fire from outside before entering the home, which is near 44th and A Streets.

Firefighters pulled out one person who died and two dead dogs. The person’s name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
