North Central District Health Department is monitoring region’s first presumptive case.

A student in Knox County is experiencing symptoms of corona virus according to Candace Schmidt, Communications Director for The City of Norfolk.

According to a news release from Region Eleven Emergency Management which includes Antelope, Madison, and Pierce Counties plus the City of Norfolk, the NCDHD was made aware of the region’s first presumptive case on March 10th with symptoms that started March 5th.

The NCDHD has initiated contact investigations with identified close contacts self-quarantining at home and being monitored by health department personnel twice daily for fever and respiratory symptoms.

The department is urging all residents of the area to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and phone their healthcare provider if they feel ill.
