Lincoln police urge caution on UNL campus after student reports being sexually assaulted

Police at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are calling for heightened safety awareness after a student reported being sexually assaulted in her residence hall by two men.

The woman told university police that she and a friend had met the men off campus and together the four of them had returned to the residence hall. The woman said the men assaulted her in her bedroom.

On Tuesday, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Chief Owen Yardley emailed a bulletin to students offering safety advice and encouraging people to report suspicious behavior.
