LES Workers Come Home From Providing Hurricane Aid

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Nebraska crews are coming home after helping restore power to some Florida Panhandle communities struck by Hurricane Michael.

The Lincoln Electric System announced on Twitter Wednesday that the mutual aid crews it sent to Tallahassee, Florida are returning to Nebraska.

The City of Tallahassee reports that electricity is restored to 99 percent of the city after 110,000 customers lost power when the Hurricane plowed through the panhandle last Wednesday.

LES lineman Vince Lieb told COTN that it took his crew two days to get to Florida before they went to work.

Grand Island crews were also dispatched to provide mutual aid.
