Funeral Services for Elaine Jensen, age 76, of Carroll, will be on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Carroll. There will be no visitation. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Carroll. She passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Kinship Pointe in Wayne. Memorials may be directed to the Jensen family for later designation. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Mary “Elaine” (Lukens) Jensen was born January 23, 1948, in Bloomfield Nebraska to Charles Enos “Charlie” Lukens and Mary Elizabeth (McDonald) Lukens. She grew up on a farm near Lindy Nebraska and attended country school in Knox County. Elaine married Lyle George Jensen on May 22, 1965, at Christ Lutheran Church in Bazile Mills. The couple started Dairy Farming near Creighton and later, near Plainview. Then they moved to a farm a few miles east of Carroll before moving to a farm a few miles north/west of Carroll. They operated their Dairy Farm for the next 49 years. Elaine enjoyed her family, reading, fishing and hunting.
Elaine is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Deanna) of Winside and James (Danetta) of Lincoln; six granddaughters, Nicole (Andrew) Sok of Norfolk, Page (Cory) Frahm of Yankton, SD, Brianna (Jeff) Pautz of Lincoln, Natasha Lux of Norfolk, Morgan (Chase) Magwire of Winside, and Alyssa Jensen of Lincoln; four great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; with one on the way; three sisters, Evelyn Beckmann of Bloomfield, Edna Thurston of Omaha, and Viva Langmack of Emerson; and two brothers Loran (Arlene) Lukens of Bloomfield, and Dennis Lukens of Paonia, CO; two sisters-in-law Janet Lukens of Story City, IA and Ela May Lukens of Colorado Springs, CO; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Elaine in death were her husband, Lyle Jensen, April 13, 2023; her parents, Charles and Mary Lukens; grand-son-in-law, Peter Lux; siblings Phylis (Buck) Butler, Dorthy (Max) Groves, Nellie (Alfred) Beckman, Donald (Hazel) Lukens, Lyle Lukens, Virlyn (Marvel) Lukens, Lee Lukens and Leland Lukens; brothers-in-law Harold Langmack, Ernest Beckman and Duane Thurstan; sister-in-law Sharon Lukens.
