Congressman Adrian Smith Says Democrats Trade Policies Fall Short

Washington, D.C. Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE), Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade, says  “House Democrats have shown time and time again they are not serious about addressing the threat posed by China and the Chinese Communist Party.”

Commenting Thursday on the China Trade Bill, Smith says – “This bill fails to address President Biden’s supply chain crisis and, worst of all, puts American job creators at a disadvantage.

Democrats acknowledge how Trade Adjustment Assistance falls short; however, their bill proposes pumping more money into it while gutting programs American businesses rely on. Once again, House Democrats have wasted an opportunity to protect American interests at home and abroad by prioritizing politics over solutions.”
