7-foot snake among things missing from Omaha woman’s apartment

An Omaha woman returned home after days away to find a sizable member of her household missing: a 7-foot-long, brown-and-black Colombian boa constrictor.

Chantel Beazer, 23, told police she returned to her apartment near 82nd and Blondo Streets around 9 p.m. Tuesday to find that more than $1,500 in property had been stolen.

Someone stole Beazer’s snake, estimated to be worth $1,000, along with a $200 48-inch TV, $350 PS4 PlayStation gaming system, several DVDs and $50 worth of video games.

Beazer told police she does not typically stay at the residence where the burglary occurred and had last visited May 25.

Police could find no signs of forced entry to the home. Beazer’s mother and friend each has a key to the residence, according to a police report.
