Funeral Services for Robert “Bob” M. Dowling age 69, of Carroll, will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Carroll City Auditorium. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Carroll City Auditorium. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Carroll. He passed away on Sunday at Faith Regional Health Services. Memorials may be directed to the Dowling family for later designation. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne. Please practice social distancing and masks are required.
Robert Melvin Dowling was born July 23, 1951, at Oakland to Melvin C. and Una L. (Nagel) Dowling. He graduated from Randolph High School in 1970, and the University of Nebraska Technical College at Curtis in 1972. Robert married Tina L. Schoonover November 14, 1987, at Carroll. They farmed and lived near Carroll. Robert was a board member of Wayne County Farm Bureau, former board member of Carroll Methodist Church, 4-H Leader of the Blue Ribbon Winners for 10 years, and member of the Cornhusker Two Cylinder Club
Robert is survived by his wife, Tina; son, Ryan Dowling of Carroll; daughter, Becca (Brandon) Gunnink of Edgerton, MN; grandsons, Greyson Dowling and Jaxston Gunnink; sister, Nancy Bethune of O’Neill, sister, Gloria (Gordon) Kudera of Pierce, brother, Wayne (Kathleen) Dowling of Tribune, KS, sister, Marilyn (Richard) Brauer of Norfolk; brother, Dean (Brenda) Dowling of Hartington; sister, Lisa (Rob) Carpenter of Lincoln; mother-in-law, June Schoonover of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Theresa Schoonover of Lincoln; brother-in-law, Robert Lee Jr. (Jan) Schoonover of Avoca; numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Robert Schoonover SR.; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
